Or, for future reference, take my first name and add it to my webpage URL, with an "at" sign in between, as in the graphic above. I'd spell it out for you more clearly but spammers are constantly bombarding me (those jerks!).

This has nothing to do with writing...I just like the picture...
It's from a play I'm in in Sacramento that runs year round...and for which I'll give a shameless plug: www.SuspectsTheatre.com and www.facebook.com/suspectstheater :-)
Teaching a Writing Elective for 7/8th graders, 2012
Created a "how to write children's books" for the 7th and 8th graders at California Montessori Project in the winter semester 2012. They liked it so much they asked me to come back for the spring electives! Lemme know if your group is interested as I"m going to start offering it up to other schools. Yes, it's just that good :-)
(Hi, I'm an ego maniac...)

Keeping the attention of sixth graders is easier than you'd expect (as long as you don't focus too much on picture books) (which I didn't) (whew)
Ellen Hopkins at a book signing
This is me with my friend Ellen Hopkins, who is one of the best writers in the entire flippin' world...go ahead, read anything of hers, such as CRANK, and just try to disagree with me!
School Visit, Jan 2009
Here's a tip: don't give your camera to an 8-year old and ask him to take photos.
School Visit, Oct 2008
It's amazing to me that even 5th graders will still sit and listen to a picture book.
Is it just me or do I look older here?
(Don't answer that) This is from a recent signing at Barnes & Noble in Citrus Heights, their busiest store in northern CA.
Bitsy Kemper presenting at the national conference
Aren't you impressed to see Bitsy behind the podium? Please raise your hand in an orderly fashion, she can only talk to one of you at a time.
Bitsy (left) and author Mo Willems
Bitsy and one of the funniest men on the planet, Mo Willems, author of "Don't Let the Chicken Drive the Bus," "Knufflebunny," and other silly writings. [Q: Is he really tall or is she really short?]
Tomie dePaola and Bitsy signing books at a conference
Tomie dePaola has written and/or illustrated about a billion children's books. Great man, great legacy.
Laura Numeroff and Bitsy

Bitsy and author/illustrator Salina Yoon
Salina Yoon has created so many board books that she now has her own imprint. She's got an amazingly creative mind, and is a nice person too.
